I was looking at a Browning x bolt hell's canyon long range in 6.5 creedmore. I want to have a long range hunting rifle that I can have some fun shooting with as well. They are a bit pricy though and many of the reviews I've read are very positive. I have not seen any particularly bad reviews. Does anyone have experience with this gun? Are they as good as the reviews say they are?

I'm also curious if any one has any real world feedback on this

Browning designed this rifle well, I like the stock design soft touch, the magazine is well thought out center feed and the shape prevents the cartridge from sliding forward on recoil, no flattened bullets.
The barrels seem to be good as they shoot well. Bolt with a 60 degree lift takes a bit to get used to, works well. Nice trigger. Would I buy another if I can find the 6.5 CM.

They are very good rifles but the stock fit is a common complaint. Personally, I find the X-Bolts to be very comfortable and the Hell's Canyon Speed is a very well thought out rifle. They do have some simlar models if the price tag scares you off. I've been looking at a X-Bolt Stalker Long Range for a good all around rifle to fit both roles fairly well. We will see if I can scrape the cash together!

I actually like the grip on them, most people do. Nicer than the rugers and better balanced at least but they're not hard to beat
