Picked up a 7mm Rem Mag and so far I’ve been really impressed! The heavy fluted barrel is glass bedded, nice stock, crisp trigger, smooth 60 degree bolt throw. Have about 40 rounds through it so far.
One thing I did notice while shooting off a rest was quite a bit of muzzle jump even with the muzzle brake. The rest is just a rudimentary wood rest with some felt on it. When I attached my bipod to the front stud, and shot off my bag, it seemed to help keep the muzzle from jumping and stabilize the rifle considerably.
Is this typical? I wonder if Browning made these to perform best with a bipod attached? There’s two swivel studs on the fore end, one for bipod and one for sling.
Anyways, curious if anyone has insight on that.
