Thinking about selling my remington 700 sps 300 win mag to buy a browning xbolt stainless stalker 30-06. Thinking about downsizing for ammunition cost. I mostly hunt moose and black bear with it. And i also want a stainless rifle. any opinions on what i should do
 
I think you should do whatever you want. You want a stainless rifle; you want a .30-06; you want a Browning.

What else do you want to hear?
 
I think you should quite thinking about and just do it! The sps is what makes this a no brainer! :p . A brand new X-Bolt just arrived at our house, yesterday! She's soooooooo purdy!
 
The obvious solution is to decide what cartridge that you really want to shoot, and just how important stainless is to you. Spending hundreds of dollars on a new rifle just to shoot cheaper ammunition doesn't make much sense. If you shoot so much that the extra cost will be quickly recovered, then you need to start reloading. If you just don't like the SPS, or you really want a different rifle, then just buy it.

Good choice,but you won't save any money on ammo.
 
I have been looking to sell my sps or trade it in on the xbolt. the delar offerd me 150 for the sps and it is mint, i just couldnt let it go for that considering two years ago i bought it for 700$ from cabelas canada. The price on the xbolt stainless seems to be around a 1000$ so Im probably going to keep the remington untill i can sell it privatley and look for the best deal on an xbolt.
