Howdy!

I was wondering if some folks on here could educate me regarding these BSA Martini .22LR rifles. I am trying to piece together a full understanding of when/where they were manufactured, their current costs and how well they shoot. Pictures encouraged :D

Thanks!

Here are a few summaries

http://www.adamsguns.com/martini.htm

The International Mk III series of rifles were guaranteed to shoot five x 10 shot groups with an average of 0.75" at 100 yards, with no group larger than 1".

General index page of rimfire rifles

http://www.rifleman.org.uk/target_Rifles_comparison_page.htm

Rifles like the Martini Model 15 were guaranteed to shoot better than 1-1/2" groups, usually consisting of three x 10 shot strings.

I presume that accuracy would be achieved with target peep sights.

Robert22,
The "classic" configuration BSA Martini 22's were manufactured in Birmingham, England by the Birmingham Small Arms company, from 1909 to 1955. The Model 12, 13, 15, and 12/15 are the ones that most often turn up here in Canada. I've paid from $325.00 to $549.00, depending on condition. All of the Martinis that I've owned and have seen in action are very accurate. On a good day, I can keep 5 rounds of Eley Target, Lapua Standard Plus, or Federal 714 inside a dime at 50M using the stock aperture sights, off the bench, with a front rest only.
