Well, it's almost springtime. Recently I just brought out my BSA, blew the dust off of it and started some preliminary practice.
It was pretty cold at our outdoor range, but with SK Standard Plus (1050 fps) I very soon had it ballpark, for a 100 yard zero of sorts, off of the shooting bench of course.
Was using the 7 inch Orange Peel high visibility targets, because with irons these older eyes need some help.
The tang sight is graduated 0-20-40-60-80.
When I was happy with my zero, it registers very close to the 40 mark on the tang sight. This is a fair start IMO.

I was wondering if any of you fellow BSA Martini rifle shooters could/would share thier best performing .22 LR target ammunition here with everyone?
Yeah, I also brought along the Wichita 1375 also for use at 300. This 308 TR and this Martini rimfire seem to compliment each other very well.

Cheers!

On a day when the light is good, the winds are calm, and my eyes are working OK, my Model 12 (ca. 1930-31) can put 5 rds of Federal 510C HV 40gr solids inside 1/2" at 50 yds. I can often keep 10 rds of 510C inside an inch at 50. Its my day-to-day practice ammo, and I sort them by weight only. The Model 12 likes Ely Target as well. When I could get Fed 714 Target, it shot well with it too.
