BSA Monarch scope rings

As I recall the BSA Monarch, Brno fox, CZ 527 & and tikka all have the same dovetail. I believe it is 17mm. The difference is that they all have a different method of stopping the rings from sliding but can be modified. I've had them all and used whatever was readily available.
I liked the all steel taco rings and bases and was disappointed when bushels didn't keep them when they bought out Tasco. I believe for my BSA I used the Tasco rings for a tikka. They have a pin at the rear of the front ring to stop the ring from sliding forward. I ground that off and drilled & tapped hole further to the centre and used a round head cap screw positioned to fit the in the dovetail. It has bee years so I don't recall what size screw I used. You can check it out for yourself.

You will want to get Parker Hale rings. The RAL-S3, RAN-S3, and RAH-S3 are what you are looking for. L is the low ring, N is normal or medium-ish, H is high rings. Most likely with the Monarch you won't want the low rings. These are the rings used on my BSA rifles.

Can you provide a source for these rings that have been discontinued for several decades?

I've found mine at gun shows, on the EE, or on a rifle I've bought. You may find them at a gun shop but you'll probably have to ask for them specifically as I've never seen them on the counter or wall racks at any I've been in.
