I just took delivery of a new to me No.4 and I am trying to figure out if it is a rebuild or an unmarked FTR.

From my research I have read that BSA did not use two groove barrels at all but that is what this one has. The receiver has a B over an M###x and is marked 1942 so it is definitely BSA. The barrel does not appear to be serial Ed to the gun either.

The birch stock and most small bits are Savage made but have CA broad arrow marks and the forend has a faint long ranch serial number on it. The sun cordite finish looks like new as well as the furniture.

No markings visible on the left reciever wall other than a faint painted over Mk.1

If it is a rebuild sporter it's exceptionally well done. Will try and get pics up later.
