Hi, I have a p17 BSA in 30-06, I'm trying to find info on the action, I'm not an expert by no means but the action seems to look alot like the Mauser 98, I have found a reasonably priced 9.3x62 barrel that I would like to install, the 9.3 barrel is designed for the Mauser 98. Would this barrel fit?

No. Not even close. The barrel shanks are very different.
Yours is one of the BSA commercially sported rifles? Nice guns.
A M1917 needs a fairly large diameter barrel shank, larger than a '98 Mauser. Threads are square vs V in the Mauser.
These Enfields have been rebarrelled for generations, but expect that the job isn't going to be cheap.
A set of measurements would tell if that 9.3 barrel could be reworked to fit the Enfield. It is going to require a chambering reamer. IF the barrel can be adapted, it would probably be less expensive than starting with a custom blank.

The barrel threads and diameters are different, as noted above.

It would be a lot cheaper, and probably get a nicer hunting rifle in 9.3x62 if you went to the Trade-ex website and checked out what they have for sale.

Trade-ex has them for sale in both the 96 Swedish action, and the 98 Mauser action.
