I just picked up a old BSA imperial (I think) 30-06. Is any one familiar with the adjustable trigger? The allen screw on my trigger is set quite far out (compared to it's .222 twin) and just doesn't look right. It seems like it should just be as simple as turning it in but thought I should ask around first.

That screw on the trigger will decrease the trigger pull weight when backed out. What I have found though is that backing it out and lessening the weight will create creep in the trigger. Turning it in will give a crisp 5lb pull weight in my experience.
The bsa trigger needs to be pulled apart by a gunsmith in order to have a nice crisp 2.5-3lb trigger imo

Thanks for the info. The trigger does seem relatively light but the fact is the allan screw is out around a 1/6 inch and is quite noticeable so I'll try to just screw it in and see how things go.
