I have a bt-99 from the 70’s that has auto ejectors! When I fire the gun and break it open it does not eject but if I close it again and fire the trigger and break open it ejects no problem! I’ve taken the gun apart and cleaned thoroughly! I notice he ejection Rod had some wear but seems ok! Any ideas what it could be?

Do you need the ejector to work? Personally I prefer an extractor on my single shot trap gun as it gives me something to do while the next guys shoot and not only saves me having to pick hulls up off the ground but makes the gun easier to open and close and prevents wear on parts like ejector rods and springs. My wife shoots a BT-99 Micro and they come from the factory as extractor only not ejector. She has shot both and much prefers the extractor too for some of the same reasons.
