BT-99's are a very highly regarded trap gun in both Canada and the US. While I don't shoot one, I shoot with a few people who do. Breakdowns are rare and, if you know what you're doing, the birds break just like you're shooting a Krieghoff. Some misinformed people tend to think of them as beginner shotguns but many A and AA shooters don't seem to agree. If the gun fits then a 34" barrel and a full choke is all you will ever need.

Yeah it seems to fit very well. I was going to go out this morning but it's raining. Most reviews I read about the gun were really good!

Good choice not taking a Browning out in the rain............ you can hear them rust when they get wet. great choice on the BT99, though I have an old beaver tail one from the early 70's and it shoots great

Very well made reliable guns. Unfortunately I have never found one I can shoot worth a darned so gave up looking years ago. I still like the looks of them though. Strange thing too is I can shoot my buddies BT-100 as well as any of my own guns. The fit and feel work for me on the BT-100. My favorite single though is my 34" Perazzi TM-1. Swings and feels like a thoroughbred in hand.

Bt-100 the poor mans perazzi they where loaded with features don't think they made them for two long.

Sorta rare and desirable.

I have owned a lot of shotguns by different makers and haven't found Brownings to rust any more than other guns when they get wet. Incidentally, I have a BT 99 with invector plus chokes and if I do my bit, it breaks the clays. A good quality, well designed gun that does the job without spending too much.!!

This is a load of bunk... Brownings bluing will hold up against the finish on any gun... I have used them in the roughest conceivable conditions, and they came through with flying colours. A December diver hunt in freezing rain and busting brush in the rain while hunting woodcock will put more of a hurting on a gun than any trap or clay course ever will.

+1, of all traditionally finished guns I have Browning's have the most reliable finishing.

Just picked one up used in a standard configuration from 1980 34 inch barrel and full choke . I am smashing clays more consistently now averaging 23 scores/ Coincidence or the shotgun? Love the BT99

I shot many rounds of skeet in the rain using a Citori, and rust was not an issue. Of course a person needs to have enough common sense to dry the gun off before putting it away.

They are a real nice gun. My buddy bought one when they first came out in the stainless version. He shot it for many years before retiring it a couple years ago in favour of a new Ceasar Geurini combo.

To bad they don't make it anymore must have had hand finishing and such and couldn't be offered at a price point they targeted.
