The following is the story of how a yugo SKS got bubba'd into a "hog rifle".

The fellow has a goal and a plan.
Reduce weight, turn it into a hunting rifle that suits his needs.

I often thought about buying an AK47 or an SKS, but not only did I not like military-looking black rifles I didn't even like people who liked black rifles.

:puke:

Not only is he a milsurp molester, but a Fudd to boot.

Seeing as he's in the States, he could have got a lighter weight AK with no butchery required.

Look at that mussel!

Nothing wrong with modifying a cheap rifle to suit your needs. At least its an sks not a fine rifle. Its not like Sks's are rare, their a dime a dozen, when the marstar boatload of them arrives I might buy a few for experimentation purposes myself.

I had recently ordered a $59.95 Turkish Mauser from J & G Sales. After some work with a Dremel® tool, files, and a hacksaw, I had converted it from a military rifle to a decent looking and great shooting sporting rifle. Maybe I could do the same to a Yugo SKS. . . .

Could he possibly be a bigger douche than he already is?

I know this will cause hate towards me but holly ####....I love guns too but the last thing I do is tell people what they can't do to THEIR guns, ie. bubba them if they wanna. People Bubba them to better suit their needs to what they are looking for and usually do so because they can not afford to buy a "stock" rifle that is the style they are after.

UPDATE: May 7, 2010: I got tired of having to pull the trigger, rifle unloaded, to determine if the safety was in the ON or OFF position. I couldn't remember which direction was which, and the rifle had no indicators. So I drilled two shallow holes and glued two plastic beads in the stock. Green = SAFE and red = FIRE.

Reading this kinda made me cringe,if hes using it for a hog defence rifle he should learn where his safety and not have to rely on looking at a red/green bead on the stock. Might be good for a new shooter but the way he's talking he shouldnt have that excuse or maybe im just way off base here

:agree:

It's their property and it's a semi-free country, so they can do as they wish.

We may not like it, I know I don't, but it's none of my business.

+1

Why is this even an issue. I guess if it's not approved by a forum it's a bad idea?

He lives in a free country and can do as he likes with his gun.

I live in a free country myself, and will happily exercise my freedom of speech to say, that is ####ing bubba-ass butchery and that guy is a ####ing mongoloid.

In conclusion, his freedom to be a ####ing idiot does not restrict my freedom to notice that he's being a ####ing idiot.
