Alright guys, I'm putting my flame suit on in advance of this one, maybe I've had too much sun this weekend... A couple years ago I picked up a Norinco Backpacker (12ga, 3" chamber, barrel is... short, I think under 14") for $50 at a gunshow. I usually shoot slugs through it, call it my "Punkin chucker". Anyways, I had the hairbrained idea to add a base for a red dot. Ideally, I would think one would want the mount on the barrel, to isolate any play in the action (isn't much, actually locks up pretty well for what it is). Although I suppose it would be easier to mount a base to the receiver and call it a day. Regardless, I'm looking to do the work myself, anybody got any ideas? I'm thinking I'll just drill and tap a base onto the receiver and call it a day.
