Was at a buddies today and spotted an old L-E in his gun room / man cave. Stamped 1901, that'd be a Long Lee...correct?
It actually had a pretty decent bore, surprisingly so IMO.
Is there a following for these like the other L-E's?

For a rebuild, it could be. I myself am looking for one, so there's one person. Surprisingly, I've seen more carbines than Long Lees in my search. Not sure why, my only guess is most of the Longs were cut down over the years.

I have two of them and lke them alot, i also have a LEC too. People like them and they are worth more then no1mkiii in the same condition. Its worth more if it has all/some of the parts ( mag cut off, dust cover, volley sights still, not d@t)

I have a sportered wood but uncut barreled 1900 long Lee here in the fleet. It's got a vg bore and has retained it's volley sights as well as the magazine cutoff. It's a great shooter and is capable of making hits on a 10" plate out at 300 meters easily.

I purchased here on the EE about 3 years ago. I think I paid $300 but I'd have to check my records to be 100% certain.

I wouldn't part with my long Lee for $300 today as they are so rare. It's a really a lucky find to come across a long Lee today with a full length barrel as there isn't many around.

I have a Long Lee that I restored from a sporter. The wood of the forearm was cut down but the barrel was left alone. Yes there is a following for these guns. They were carried by Canadian troops during the Boer War.
