Hey,
Sort of just playing around here...

Bubba'd: Mods done to an SKS that change the character of the rifle. New stocks, scope rails, mag conversions, etc.

Babushka'd: Mods done that don't really change the character of the rile, but (arguably) improve the rifle. New firing pins, aperture sights, recoil pads, etc.

Agree? Disagree? Let's have a good clean debate!

"babushka" = old woman, grandmother .. nothing new and improved ... but "kossak'd" has a better ring and meaning

Cossacks or not-deson't matter! Babushka, babusya, babulya etc it is not something women wear on their heads or gun mods; babushka is an elderly woman.

Everyone is free to choose what mods to do to their rifle. Rifle is for enjoyment at this stage of the game, but it may change to self defense soon for most parts of the World. Whatever you are using your rifle for, it has to fill in your needs at that moment in time. Whatever is practical or enjoyable. Rifle is fine or not-it is circumstances plus your decision. Who cares. It is yours. Enjoy or use it practically or both.

Whoa! So serious. As I said, just having a little bit of fun. And not for nothing, but I wasn't directing the question to you. :)

BTW, Bubba originally referred to a good old boy from the USA. Just like Babushka means something. I'm aware of that. But thanks. ;)

I like it - Cossack'd. And I still like Babushka'd.

In wartime, who'll carry an SKS? Who is more likely to add a recoil pad? Aperture sights? Do a trigger job? I have no freaking idea who..

And I am thinking that Cossacks may be wanting something more like an AK. This is a tough one. But I like it!

You guys are hilarious - I almost spit my beer out laughing at Babushka'd. Kossak'd also has a nice ring to it. Excuse me while I go Kossak my SKS.
 
I think Baba'd has a better ring to it than babuska'd.

Although, the only gun I ever saw my baba shoot was a single shot cooey...
