I just recently changed scopes and went from a 30mm tube to a 34mm and now Im looking at replacing the bubble level on it. I had the vortex level and thinking of trying something else this time. Right now Im looking at the Fix it Sticks level that attaches to the pic rail. Also I dont think Im willing to part with the 300 dollars for the MDT lra sent it level.

Just wondering what you guys use or would like to use?

thanks

If Flat line ops is still around you won’t go wrong.

I have a $20 scope-mounted one (Westhunter amazon) and I find the bubble moves slowly, reacting 'late' IMO. And I have a 419 30* rail bubble that I find awkward 'down there' while shooting. The rail mounted Fix-it looks rather Low, too. The Vortex 'looks OK'; do you have issues with it? Arken has one like it , just a bit pricier. I'd vote for the 'better' mfr, Arken IMO. It seems to be closer to 'line of sight'?

After several years struggling with scope mounts and bubble levels finally I pulled a plug on higher quality mounts.
What that means?
The scope mount rings clamps vertically or about 60 degree and not horizontally. When you tightening the screws L or R side won't cant the scope and the bubble.
If you manage this "problem" pretty much any amazon bubble will work - much better. How much to spend? A sky is a limit for $ but what is easier for you.

Thanks for the replies gents. lol

With all the snow still out here I dont think I'll be getting out until the end of April at the earliest, so Im in no rush.

As for the Vortex one I had, I guess it worked ok. I dont remember thinking that it ever sucked. I just got down behind the rifle for a bit picturing both and both the pic rail and scope mounted seem to be about the same amount of effort to see. To tell you the truth, I dont even know if I'll have enough room for a pic mounted one right now. Waiting for the mount and rail to come in and then I will be able to have a better idea.

cheers

You have plenty of time, try to locate some of these tools to setup a scope and bubble.
I am cheap, I don't buy if I can 3d print.

I looked at that Westhunter one on amazon and I do like the one set that has that little triangle pointer thingy for the center marker. Might just try that for now for 15 bucks.

titch-- , That's the one I bought and I find the bubble moves realllly sloooow. OK if you're shooting bench an not in a hurry. The 'oil' inside is too thick IMO. I just had it out this week and looked - it's still Slooow. When I bought mine it was Spring and 'rainy season' here in East. I didn't get out to shoot until it was too late to return. So, YOU may be OK with it and it may be I just got a shi**y one. It was this time last year so maybe they 'improved them ? Just save your package and don't scratch it so you can return if you want. That's the good thin about amazon, hassle-free returns.
Good Luck 😃

PS - I have some 'larger' bubble levels out of a broken carpentry level. Gonna epoxy one onto the bell of one of my scopes, Alway can 'un-glue' it if I don't like it. These bubbles are 'much faster' IMO. I'll update if it works.

Yeah I wanted to see the ones your talked about there.

I dont mind slow, as I just shoot with a couple buddies for fun out on some private land I can play around on. Still on the fence on what to get.

Installed the new scope and that level and found that westhunter bubble moves really fast. Almost to sensitive.

Glad you got it set up. Hope you can get used to that 'fast bubble'. I had mine on a B-22-FV y-day at the range and it's OK for bench but Not if I was hunting. Too windy to judge my accuracy but the slow bubble made me take my time :D

I'm using Wheeler scope rings - they have a flip out bubble built into the rings. They're in a nice location for viewing to.

Has anyone tried the Accuracy First models with the ceramic ball instead of the typical air bubble?

As far as analog levels go, the Accuracy 1st ones are the best, imo. I have them on most of my scopes. The ceramic ball is more reactive than an air bubble and moves at a good speed (ie not too fast, not too slow) as opposed to some levels with air bubbles that are way too slow (and get worse in the cold). I'm also a big fan of the MDT Send-It levels that although pricey, can easily be swapped from rifle to rifle (as long as you set your reticle up plumb during initial setup).

I liked and wanted the Accuracy First level but went with the Vortex since it was readily available. It works good but is almost a bit too quick. I also have a set of MDT rings with the bubble level built in on the same rifle, but that is only used when I level the rifle to install the scope.

I recently purchased a Flatline Ops that Im very pleased with. Like that its adjustable and can be used folded or flipped to the left or right.IMG_1685[1].JPGIMG_1687[1].JPG
