Buckmark ammo preference?

I can't seem to recall if there was something my Buckmark seemed to shoot better, or not. I do recall getting more stovepiping with some ammo.

I have a pretty wide variety of .22 hoarded. Has anyone had great performance from any particular laod?

This goes to show how each firearm has it's own quirks and preferences! I couldn't get my buckmark to feed/cycle/fire reliably to save my life with AE ammo!

The only way to find out what works best is to shoot'em all!

Isn't that the truth. Mind you, a weak extractor spring is not exactly an unknown issue with the Buckmarks.

Replace, and lube well. I had to do that with my Sihlouette's and now they are stone axe reliable with the AE/Fed .40

Mine likes winchesterbulk packs ie. 555 packs but haven't had a problem with any ammo it shoots anything without any problems

Thing with the Buckmark is to ensure that the top rail hex scews are tightened down nice and tight. If they get even slightly loose (which they sometimes will when shooting), the firing pin won't strike the case primer properly resulting in FTF's and improper slide cycling giving you stovepipes.

If all is tight, mine shoots Federal 525 just fine with only the occational stovepipe.
If you really want to ensure proper cycling, try Remington Yellow Jackets HP. 33 gr. bullet with 1500fps at the muzzle...with a little more kick.
