Buckmark Rifle debate

Re . Debris in the face.. I did have issues with CCI stingers. Man the rifle loved that ammo but it was hard on rabbits , I switched to Ely target 40 gr solids after experimenting with different ammo and that solved both problems.
 
And to the OP. 8 bones seems a bit high but after having , shooting and hunting with one ?.. I would still recommend it. Or perhaps look for a used one at a lower price but mine ain't for sale. Lol
 
Awesome rifles had one of the grey laminate heavy barrels ate anything you feed it amazing accuracy wish I never sold it gonna pick up a sporter version one day and it will never be sold lol
 
Hi! Instead of starting a new thread I will use this one. I have my eyes on a used Buckmark rifle with 2 mags, bull barrel & wallnut stock, it is in very good condition, had it with me for 2 weeks and got hooked. I am interested in buying it, so he asked me to make an offer. How much should i offer? The seller is friend, i don't want to lowball and don't want to see one on the ee for 150$ less than what I will pay.

well the bull barrel versions seem to be selling in the $750 to $800 range these days so if it is in vg condition, I'd probably offer 20% to 25% below what a new one would cost me, including tax , shipping, etc. If you can't save that much, you are probably better off buying new anyways. I think that is a fair price for a friend - fair to both sides, IMO.

I changed out the scope on my Buck Mark Sporter from the Leupold VX-2 3-9X33mm EFR to the VX-1 2-7X28mm Rimfire, I like the slimmer and lighter 2-7X28 better on this rifle... the loss of 2X on the high end has not changed the groups out to 50 meters.
