bucks with buck shot

I know soo many guys that think they can shoot deer with buckshot at 100 yrds !!.Sometimes I wish the stuff was band for deer hunting but that's just me.

I'd rather have those hunters "banned" from hunting.

I always preferred #1 buck as It gave several more pellets per 2 3/4" shell and was still .30 Caliber.Also patterned better in my guns.Full or mod.Leveled my first deer as a kid @ 60 yards on the full run small WT buck........

Wish I could get my hands on some #1. All they sell around here is 00 and 000 ... and sometimes #4.

Remington used to make it.Maybe not something commonly carried by stores these days.

If you must use buckshot, try and find some of the Federal shells with the Flitecontrol wad. I personally find that it works best with more open chokes; it patterned better with skeet choke (.005" constriction) than with improved cylinder (.010" constriction) in my tests.

I run modified choke and federal 2 3/4" 0 buckshot but may have to switch up as my stockpile has gotten low

There is another ammo manufacturer, Hornady IIRC, that uses a copy of the flite control wad in their buckshot loads.
