I put in a absentee bid and got a orig. Rem. New Model Army 44 C&B I have one already but love it so much I wanted a pair to shoot cowboy for fun the 45-70 Sharpe's I wanted went a little to high for me any body get anything good I would have liked to bid on the 12gauge rifled ball gun I believe it went for $5200.00 just love looking in the catalog at all the wonderful things

Grant, you'd better not spill the beans. I've made good use of absentee bidding over the past few years thereby avoiding some domestic stress.

Sorry to disappoint I put a ban on my self put in my max offer this way I don't get caught up in auction fever or buy some thing just because

Sorry to hear you missed the Rem...you were probably gonna shoot it anyhow...shame on you.

Hey 38-55..."Domestic Stress" is only measured in the amount of time you have to sleep on the couch...in most cases this only lasts about three to four days, though in extreme cases it may last over a week. Personal experience from both sentences to marriage.

No I got the Rem and missed the Sharps and of course it will be shot . You still got that old Colt for sale if its pre 1898 we could put on a new 44special cylinder and screw on a new 44 cal. barrel . 44spec. is not on the no go list then de-register it .I would love to turn it into a regular shooter :evil:

So you got my Remmy. Had to settle for a couple of New Model Police, a Whitney, a couple of .41 cal Colts, Webley and a Pepperbox. And, Guys, if the wife knew what stayed at Bud's and what came home I would definitely be on the couch but it wouldn't be at our house.

I was there.Sat through from 8:30AM until 9:30PM.A long day but I got a few goodies for myself.NOthing really expenxive but it is sure nice to be there and see all these wonderful guns.

It has not arrived yet waiting on the mail but I could bring the one I already have to the next meeting .
 
I sat through the whole thing. My purpose for being there was to take a shot at the John Harper 20 gauge. I got into a bidding war with one other guy, so I let him have it (I've been on the winning end of too many of those bidding wars to not know that they end when someone pays too much).

I bought a few miscellaneous items (like the commemorative ammo to go with my LBH commemorative, a Colt hard cover book that was released in honor of Colt's 100th anniversary in 1936, a taxidermied ruffed grouse, etc.) and one shotgun.

The shotgun I bought was the Baker Gun and Forging Company 12 gauge Batavia. I'll be posting pictures of it in the 'Shotgun' forum as soon as I get a chance to take them. I'm sure vintage shotgunners will be interested in closeups of the barrels - they were professionally refinished and the Damascus Twist pattern is among the most vivid I've ever seen. You don't often see twist barrels that are nitro proofed, either.
