im looking for a sub 800$ 6.5 creedmoor rifle that I could use for hunting and target shooting. I would like the rifle to have at least a medium contour barrel, not a thin hunting barrel.

is there anything else other then the ruger american predator and savage 11 predator? I can't find anything

I think I saw a less expensive one on the Savage Arms site. Search on savagearms.com show 5 rifles in 6.5 Creedmoor between $600 -$800.

Howa mini action... a low budget for a good rifle. .... Ooops I have 6.5 Grendel on the mind.

im not sure the barrel is medium contour...?

I know cabelas carry the Ruger, I even bought a 223 one when there was 100$ OFF but was wondering if there was other options with a similar barrel contour

I have one of the new Savage Axis II with the hardwood stock in 6.5 Creedmoor and it will shoot sub moa with most loads I shoot in it. I'm not sure if the barrel meets your requirements but I can shoot mine quite a bit and it doesnt seem to change the size of the groups. The hardwood stock makes a big difference over the synthetic stock.

Piss on the 6.5 Creedmore, get a real 6.5 like a 260Rem, 6.5x55, or 6.5/284...
People get their pussies in a knot over this stupid cartridge...Swedes have been shooting 6.5's sub-moa for 123 years.
Hardly a new phenomenon.

The Howa 1500 Panamax would fit your requirements and even includes a functional, but not great, scope.

And if you shopped carefully you could add a couple boxes of ammo to the purchase and still have enough of your $800 left to buy a coffee.

The stock is synthetic, it has a number 2 contour barrel and it's a Howa 1500 action (same action/barrel as the Weatherby Vanguard II since Howa builds them). And at least the Weatherby's are guaranteed to be Sub-MOA, and it's not like they are manufactured different and it's no secret that the Wby's are made by Howa.

You can take a look here: http://www.legacysports.com/catalog/howa/howa-hogue-nikko-stirling-panamax-scoped-package/

Which one of these is easier to reload (mostly availability) and has the best barrel life?

With the same ballistics?

The 6.5x55 has been loaded faster then the 6.5CM before it was even thought of, bigger case, more powder. The 6.5CM doesn't even match 260Rem loads, it's not a bad cartridge, it just doesn't do anything that hasn't been done before so I don't understand the hype...
Swede civilian target shooters shot at 300-600m mostly...with irons, skills that are lacking today by most shooters (myself included lol).
The 129gr ABLR pills are 2/3 the length of a 6.5x55, they must take up a lot of room in the 6.5CM

I like the 6.5 Creed so far, but I am very early into it. I also like the factory support for it. Ammo everywhere, including brass. No idea if the 260 has better barrel life, if its 100 fps faster, then prob not.
