Budget Optic for M1A? Help please

I am looking for an budget optic for my m1a. I broke the bank on it (it came with a springfield scope mount) and have enjoyed using the irons but now looking for a high magnification scope preferably calibrated for .308/7.62. I like mil type reticals. And I am looking to spend $300 maybe $400 all in with rings. I am open to used optics, any suggestions? And please don't tell me the "half the cost of the rifle" rule as I am not made out of money

Bushnell 3200 10x40 gave me good results when I had it on my m305. It is now sitting on my 16" AR15

What 1/2 the cost of the rifle rule? Isnt it more like nightforce minimum rule? Lol

The 10x bushy would be your best bet. Pick up a used one and use it until you can afford better. Then sell the bushy for the same that you bought it for.

A used sightron s3 fixed power might fall into your price range? I've heard the 10x swfa scopes are decent, but I've never tried one.

Nikon makes some budget priced, decent quality scopes that you could mate with Burris Xtreme Tactical rings.

There's a used 10x40 bushnell in the EE right now.... Under $200 iirc.

i personally like my Vortex scopes. Great clarity on the glass IMO.
