budget over/under?

"A lot" is relative, to some people 1000 rounds per year is a lot, to me a lot starts at 5000 rounds per year. At 1000 rounds per year, many of the cheaper Turkish shotguns will last you several years, but at 5000 rounds or more per year, I would be looking at a used Citori, in the long run, it will be the budget shotgun, because it will last you a lot of years at 5000 rounds or more per year.
Condors are built like tanks and can take a lot .. they are very tight at first , once they've been shot a bit they start to smooth out.
If its a community gun a few hundred bucks isn't likely to make you cringe as much at chips and dings in the wood.

Be aware that the Silver Reserve has had firing pin issues, that can show up, in as few as 500 rounds.

If your talking about a few hundred rounds per year then you may be happy with a cheap Turkish gun but for a little more money than you can get a good used Beretta or Browning and have something that will last for many years and retain its value. If your talking about a few thousand rounds per year then I'd stay away from the Turkish guns.
Also in the market for a reasonable o/u. The Churchills seem to get good reviews. Still Turkish of course. Ideally, a Citori with chokes in the $1300-$1500 range would be perfect, but you don’t see those too often anymore. I’m probably less than 1k rounds per year.

Removed stock, found action was bone dry, applied light machine oil. ALL OK after that.
After having one double twice one afternoon, one of our members bought a 725.
Double the fun will one trigger pull. The best thing Turkish are the belly dancers guns not so much.
Any gun can have troubles. High volume shooters (>5 digit targets/yr) have learned that the cost of the gun is minimal compared to the cost of ammo/targets. I've not seen people have trouble with most turkish guns- in fact my experience with them has been pretty good. Personally I have a Winchester- seem to be under-valued compared to the B guns and I've seen deals for them from time to time. Your description doesn't sound like "a lot"... think about how many flats/year you will be shooting. If you are shooting a flat/month a Turkish gun wouldn't be a bad choice IMHO if you can find one that fits you well. Ideally you can try it on targets before you buy so you know it fits nicely.
If looking for a new Turkish double I suggest huglu. They're about the best built for the money. I have 4 now and all have been flawless so far. Excellent fit and finish. Good demensions. Well regulated and available thru a great dealer. Prophet river
