Budget Tactical/Precision Rifle

Set out to build a tactical type rig on a shoestring budget. 1250$ total into this rifle as it sits. Capable of 1/4 MOA or better as test target shows Will take some better pictures later but here she is:

New Stevens Actions 200$
Rifle Basix Trigger 0$ (bought a used rifle to get the trigger, sold the rifle with trigger swap for same $$)
EGW 20 MOA base 50$
Used Sig Z 30 MM rings EE 50$
Takeoff HS Precision LRPV Repeater Stock 300$
Chicom Harris Copy 25$
Homemade Tactical Bolt Knob 0$
Used Bushnell 4200 6x24-50 Tactical EE 550$
New Shilen Match BBL 175$ Chambered in .260 rem with 1-9 twist

1250$ total including glass.

Thanks....Brownells...260 remington 1-9 twist. Left the bbl full length and didn't profile it so she is a heavy pig...15+lbs. Doing it over I would have cut it back to 24" and cut it to a varmint profile. I have stainless krieger blank in 1-8 and a varmint profile that I might do something with if it does not sell.

Thanks....Brownells...260 remington 1-9 twist. Left the bbl full length and didn't profile it so she is a heavy pig...15+lbs. Doing it over I would have cut it back to 24" and cut it to a varmint profile. I have stainless krieger blank in 1-8 and a varmint profile that I might do something with if it does not sell.

no...I am working on some bottom metal that takes aics mags, just put that there to see how it looks. I only have savage bottom metal and flush DBM right now.

you should try and snug down those scope rings equally... the gaps between the top and bottom half don't seem to match up. Otherwise, you did very well on that budget.

Good eye...its just sitting in the rings for the photo, haven't leveled or tightened it down yet.
