Hi all,
Not sure if anyone is going to understand this or not. I'm looking for an aluminium or steel block that has the inner diameter threads to install a ar style buffer tube into that has bolt holes or some way of fastening it to a modified wood stock. I was given a cut up russian wood stock that i'd like to monkey around with and potentially install an adjustable ar style stock on it. Or even a block that has a picatinny rail vertically on the back that i can put one of the buffer tube adapter plates onto and then tread a butter tube into that maybe? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Buy yourself a section of pic rail and bolt it on, if you do it properly it should hold solid. Maybe some type of threaded insert/heli coil you screw into the stock that the pic rail then screws into.

This is the best way to go. It's easiest to get a square cut across the wrist area of the stock as a good mounting point. I would +1 the screw inserts, OP will be putting screws into the end grain of the wood and will need all the help he can get keeping the screws from pulling out. The inserts are available from Amazon and most of the big box stores in a variety of sizes/threads.

Thanks Mark!

ar15 or M16 buffer tube, round...model, no Rib on the bottom, and a big drill bit..or a wood lathe..or metal lathe..lol, drill the hole in the center or what ever angle you'd like in your wooden stock...insert, over the tube..test fit..mark for up alignment, take back apart and epoxy on the inside of the hole, on the wood stock, making sure you sanded ( 120 grit) the buff tube, to get the best adhersion possible..clean well, push on..aline..and let setup.
Is that what your looking for?
Cheers

Not a bad job...but one you need to get right the first time! You could send it to a gunsmith or a stock maker to fit too..I think there are still a couple of stock makers out west still..but who knows anymore...most are gone or retired.

Thanks! I got the parts I needed and am slowly working on making things good. I have an already cut up older wooden stock that needs work. We shall see if I can get it how I’d like it to be.
