Buffer Tube (Sort of) Question

Hi all.

Trying to get started on a custom build, but I don't know if what I'm looking for exists. Essentially, I'm aiming to build a wood stock that will fit into a receiver threaded for AR-style stocks. I'm wondering if there's a short, threaded adapter with a 'cup', so to speak, to which the wood stock could be attached? So far all I've been able to find are full length buffer tubes. That would do in a pinch, but seems to be more than what I need.

So, options:
1. Find out if what I'm looking for exists.
2. If not, make something myself (trickier, as requires acquiring a die at the very least) or have it made (could be expensive, I'd think).
3. Buy a buffer tube and modify it.
4. Attempt to thread the wood itself (although this seems the least plausible - don't know about the viability of threads that thin in wood).

Any suggestions?

Many thanks!

Thanks - good suggestion!

So the gist of it (and I realize I may have posted in the wrong section) is a Remington 700 in a Cadex Core chassis, but I'd like to do the stock and pistol grip in wood - a bit of a hybrid. I was thinking of making the end of the butt adjustable to account for a differing length of pull, but just taking advantage of the buffer tube adjustability would also work.

I'm still debated whether to go straight inline with adjustable cheek piece, or carve the cheek piece into the stock at the right elevation. I think I'm leaning towards the former at this point though.

Thanks for the suggestion - lots of knowledge on here to take into account!
