Buffer Weight - How heavy is too heavy?

For a 5.56 AR, either rifle or carbine length gas system, is there a weight which will negatively effect function?

10.5-7.5 = H2 to H3
14.5-11.5 = H1 to H2
14.5-18 = H1 to Carbine

Verify your ejection angle, if its over gassed it will bounce forward, go heavier. If its under gassed it goes rear, go lighter.

I was wondering about this...with a 18.5" barrel (rifle length gas) a standard carbine weight buffer should work fine then? Not new to guns, but new to the AR platform and its NR lookalikes. I have a upcoming build and purchased the BCM buffer tube assembly already which included a std buffer and spring.

You can even use 9mm buffer on your .223/5.56 AR.
