What I got - DPMS upper with 24 inch fluted heavy barrel. What I want - lower to go with it.

I don't really need one, the upper works fine with my Norc lower but.....I just want want one.

The question is, am I better off getting a matching DPMS lower rather than another make? From a future resale point of view that is (I have learned that all my firearms reside with me temporarily, :) eventually it will be dealt)

I am also considering a Dlask, cause I have read good things about them and hey, Canadian. The one I am considering is on trade and an older model with the white lettering. I have read the QA/QC on the early ones were not as good as current. Should I stay away

Thoughts and inputs appreciated

Almost anything out there should work OK. From a resale perspective it would probably be better with a DPMS lower. I know I tend to steer clear of mix'n match guns myself. Just my opinion of course.

Build or buy is an ongoing thing many struggle with. In some cases though, a fully built AR is hard to get with all one brand name.

For example, you can't get an all-Lone Wolf Ar in Canada as the importer only brought in lowers. There are lots of other examples.

A good example is 9mm AR's. There are a few 9mm RRA and Colt guns out there that are not mixed builds, but not a lot of them and Quester doesn't have any in stock right now apart from a $1900 pistol variant that will end up as a mix-build if you convert it to a rifle.

That being said, if you are getting a bog-standard 5.56 AR15 - it's easy to get a matching brand name gun, though I don't know of anyone currently selling DPMS lowers in canada except in .308.

I like them enough that I just bought another yesterday ;) I like that Joe will customize the receiver engraving if you ask at no charge.

If you just want a bone-stock lower made in Canada though, the $159 Blue Line lowers are hard to beat.

You can order Dlask lowers assembled, but I buy them stripped and assemble them myself as I've done it enough times that I'd rather save the money of having someone else paid to do it.

The Blue Line lowers are only available stripped if I'm not mistaken.
