Am considering a project for a take-down lever action. What method are there, for mating and locking barrel to action ? Continuous thread seems obvious, but interupted would be faster?

I was just playing with a factory takedown BLR what a fantastic/simple setup.

Nope couldn't get me to try converting one after seeing how Browning made then so perfectly.

I was pretty impressed with the one I handled at the Sportsman's Show. Are there any durability concerns about the steel barrel locking into the aluminum receiver? Or does the fact that the steel bolt locks into the back of the barrel make that a non-issue? I'm wondering if carrying it on a sling is going to wear the mating surfaces and loosen it up.

It would also be nice to store it disassembled, but is frequent assemble/disassembly going to cause problems? Is this thing meant to be taken down only rarely for travel purposes, but left assembled otherwise?
