Building an 10/22?

Browsing this forum gave me many ideas about modding 10/22 rifles.
With the recent news that 10/22's are in stock locally, I'm interested in purchasing a second one.
However, I expect to have a few spare parts lying around once my first mod is complete.

My question is, should I just purchase a new 10/22 or the parts to assemble one?
If i get a new one, I wouldn't need the barrel, stock, charging handle.
If I buy only the parts, I'm not sure where to buy the parts (other than trigger group) and what the total costs will be.
If I go the latter route, where would I be able to source the following (let me know if I missed anything):
  • Receiver
  • Bolt
  • Barrel V-block
 
Dlask makes a fine reciever ... I think they might have v blocks too.. I'm not sure of a source for a stock bolt or Canadian source for an upgraded bolt ... If anyone knows I'd be interested aswell
 
It is a wash. I have built a few and unless you are planning to go with aftermarket everything you may want to buy one and sell off the extra parts. The biggest benefit to starting with a stock rifle is you can add one part at a time, decide if you like the mod and move to the next. I know that some guys buy a million bits and bolt them together. The gun never runs right, fails to feed, stove pipes and they have no idea why. Start with a stocker!

I know this is the reasonable way to approach it, but... That was my intention. Bought a barely used basic 10/22. Then started collecting parts. Got a KIDD barrel, bolt, charging handle and complete trigger group from Fab Sports. Ordered a Boyds stock, and now wondering if I might just add a Dlask Dar receiver to the mix. If so, no need of the used 10/22 I bought. It's only money. lol
