Hey all, trying to plan my first AR build, any suggestions you have would be appreciated. Just trying to figure out if this will all work well together, or if theres anything else I should look at instead. Im trying to go for the best value, without sacrificing performance too much. I will mostly be using this for 3gun/IPSC rifle and fun at range, not expecting to be taking shots any farther than 400-500m on occasion, with the average being within 150m. The parts with an asterisk I already have.

Upper:
- Aero Precision Assembled Upper
- *Aero Atlas S-One 12” handguard
- 14.5” SPR BA 223 wylde stainless fluted barrel
- TNA lopro adjustable gas block
- JP Recoil Eliminator Brake
- Brownells Nickel Boron Lightweight BCG
- *Butterfly style ambi charging handle

Lower:
- *Aero Stripped lower
- Hiperfire Hipertouch ECLipse trigger
- MFT Minimalist stock
- Armaspec SRS-H3 buffer
- *Magpul K2+ grip
- *Magpul BAD lever

Other random parts:
- LPK (less fire control/grip)
- Gas tube
- *Buffer tube/castle nut

Now to explain some of my choices: First the barrel - from what Ive read, in general, CHF seem to have better life, but stainless have more accuracy. I think I want to go for accuracy over barrel life for this build; I reload, so Im not expecting to run super hot loads to burn out the barrel faster, and Ill be able to make some ammo that should be fairly accurate. The brake I want just because its absolutely ridiculous and I love it.

Also, Ive read that a heavier buffer will reduce perceived recoil, which is why Im thinking about going for the H3, Im hoping it’ll work even if I have a lightweight BCG because of the adjustable gas block. If my reasoning is flawed please let me know.

Parts I dont have any real preference for are the buffer tube, LPK and gas tube - Im thinking there should be no issue just buying whatever inexpensive milspec parts I can find for those eh? The only thing I might spend a little extra time/money for is a 45 degree ambi safety.

I know I havent mentioned anything for sights/optics yet, but I am planning for that, I just havent settled on anything yet. Leaning towards a Vortex 1-6x in a QR mount, but not sold yet. Not planning on using irons.

A few things I have some questions about: Is it worth forking over the extra cash for a JP captured spring buffer, or will the Armaspec be a better value?

Same question for the BCG - should I just upgrade to the JP low mass BCG, or stick with Brownells? Is there that much of a difference?

Is there anything I forgot? Anything else I should look into instead? I appreciate any and all feedback, thanks!
