Well, I have been searching high and low on info to build my first Direct Gas Impingemented AR-15. Now Im ready to start shopping and buying the parts. Could anyone recommend good places (online or not) to shop and see the selection in Canada for parts? There are nice parts online but some I cant seem to find at all in Canada.

Thanks!

Questar, arms east, cowboy tactical, wolverine.

they will probably have all you need, i would suggest buying quality parts. i tried a budget build once.....never agian

wolverine
epps
questar
arms east
ATRS
S&J

are places you can start off the top of my head for parts

barrel length is your 1st decision, the rest will follow

You guys are forgetting One Shot Tactical.

Dlask has some matched upper/lower sets up for grabs right now for a decent price. Upper receivers seem to be the only part that is hard to find as far as options go right now.

Meanwhile, if you are building, I think it's the tools that you should be more worried about.

You'll need a big solid vise, check canadian tire for sales.

I got all my parts from a variety of vendors: Wolverine, Milarm, Saskatoon Gunworks, Fabsports and Questar.

Make sure you buy/borrow a quality armours wrench. You'll also need a set of roll pin punches a vise block and a solid vise.

Thanks all! Im hoping to keep it in the 2500-3000$ range with optics. would this be considered budget or I should be fine?

If anyone is interested, during my search I found a nice list of machine shops that manufactures lowers for individual companies.

We have lots of parts in stock with more always on the way.

You can see a few of the parts here on the website.

We also have a Cadex lower pre built waiting for an upper ;) It looks like the bottom rifle below.

$2500-$3000 should build you a nice rifle depending on what you're looking for. If you're going match grade components, you'll be over that most likely.
What I did was build it 1 component at a time, and I'd open every single site sponsor's website to compare prices on whatever pieces I needed, and compare them to in-town stores. Saved a lot of money on my AR, but still came out to be $1600 with nothing fancy.
