built in lock in Steyer L9A1

technically yes, but if you have to explain to a cop why you don't have a trigger lock on, your probably going to have to have the argument in court. 5000 later you will win, but you won't get the money or the time back. Better off just putting a trigger lock on, they aren't expensive

I keep a separate trigger lock on my L9. It's just one less point of argument if it comes down to it... I'd agree that the integral lock should be good enough, but when does my opinion ever matter?

The foam of any case, even the factory Steyr case, will soak up the trigger lock easily. So flatter packing isn't really a concern... but if it is just get a combo-lock, they don't have the protruding tumbler like a key-lock

I have a couple of Steyr's and have never used the internal lock....its merely a child deterrent. You can literally unlock these guns with a hair clip or a pair of pointy tweezers. I keep mine with a key'd trigger lock on them. An ounce of prevention.......

mt666tm, thanx for the info. I love the look of these, I love the low bore axis, I love that its a Steyr Mannlicher, but I can't find a good/great holster for it. I really like the Comp-Tac line, especially the Minotaur.
