Hi All,

On a whim, I put in an order for a DPMS AR Carbine from Wolverine... the price was right:

Planning to keep this rifle simple.

Was hoping to get some input from you nutz on what sort of front sight i should use and where i might source such a thing domestically.

Picatinny Railed Gas Blocks do not accommodate a same-plane aperture front sight so it is not as simple as it might be.

I would prefer a folding sight, probably of metallic construction as I imagine that gas block heats up quite a bit.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Cheers!

GG&G makes a set that puts the FSP at the right height when mounted to a railed gas block

Ideally, don't mount a front sight on a gas block. If you must, go with something aluminum like something from Midwest Industries. There aren't a lot of options of for gas block front sights and there's a reason for it.

OK, noted.

Whats the reason, if you don't mind my asking?

Not questioning your advice but if a gas block sight doesn't work well why does an A2 sight work?
