Does anyone know anything about this gun/company? I’m looking for 1911 for IPSC Classic.

From their website:

The 1911 Trophy is what we believe to be the ultimate IPSC Classic Division pistol. Includes all the features from our Classic line of 1911 pistols, the Trophy has got all the extras needed for competitive shooting. The Trophy is true to our motto "ready to race out of the box". Just load some rounds and go to the range

I have read that if you want to shoot IDPA or USPSA, you must have the bushing version instead of the gorgeous bull barrel. Does anybody have any more information about that?

I hope not, right in the description it says 'the ultimate classic division pistol.
Call Devon at Freedom Ventures, he will help you out. If he doesn't know for sure, his boss is Sean Hansen, the president of IPSC Canada.

Too bad they don’t make it in 40SW!
Then it would be 1 step closer to being an ultimate classic gun.

I have tried the bul, and i have owned a few pimped out STI trojans.
The bul is not as good as the STI in my opinion, but has lot’s of value for the money, which i believe that STI are overcharging for what they got.

Took me about 15 seconds to find the USPSA rule book and search for "bushing". Google is your friend.

Could you elaborate please your opinion about Bul vs STI ?

IPSC Classic Division allows bull barrels; USPSA single stack does not; so if you're headed to the USA - you should get a bushing version. We try to stock both.

Why would anyone shooting classic buy one in 9mm and shoot minor??? Freedom, fix this! We need one in .40!
I'll ask them when I'm here at SHOT this week.

It's very difficult to compare an STI 1911 pistol and a Bul - STI doesn't make 1911s anymore. We have a few of them left, but hen they're gone - they're gone.

This is personal experience and opinion only, not really set in stone facts.

The Trojan, to have it dressed like the Bul (grips, magwell, ambi safeties, light hammer...including bull barrel as I prefer the heft), cost about 1200$ more than the bul.
Trojan felt tighter, better balanced, more accurate, and preferred grip (it seems the trigger guard is under cut higher and allows for higher grip).
Some of these presumptions may be wrong, as I told my friend we really need to bench his Bul to see the true potential, I may have lost the touch since then.

So far my opinion goes like :
yes I would buy a Bul,
yes the Trojan is better once dressed the same,
no the Trojan is not worth 1200$ more, it's diminishing returns at that point, so Bul has lot's of value for the money.

Once again, this is only opinion based...
