BUL M5 vs. STI Spartan

Hi,
Does anybody own a Bul M5 pistol from Marstar?
If yes....
What are your thaughts/experiences about/with the Bul M5 pistol?
How does this pistol compare to the STI Spartan....they seem to be in the same price range..

I have shot both. You have to take a few very different things into consideration, the Bull has a Poly frame and also it is double stack. That being said, it is very well built and shoots really well. Now the Spartan, it is typical STI quality, very tight, all the toys needed for a great gun. It has a steel frame and is single stack. Out of the 2, I would pick the Spartan, personally I think there is no better deal for a 1911 on the market. It is well built, tight, accurate, very reliable and a real pleasure to shoot.

Well, I have owned both. I still have the Spartan.

The M5 is a good gun, but for me it needed an extended trigger as the grip is just too small. It was good and accurate, well made, altho I wasn't fond of the polymer frame. I think it is good value.

The Spartan, a single stack, is quite possibly the most accurate 45 auto I have ever owned. (I have had two Gold Cup's !) It has all the bells and whistles you could need except for a mag chute. Fits my hand much better than the Bul. Outstanding gun, outstanding value. Why pay more ???

I have never shot the Bul, never seen one even, however I agree about the STI Spartan!

Maybe a better one to compare from Bul is the Storm. It's all metal. My wife owns one and I love it.

I have a Spartan. Love it. Never owned a Bul... probably never will. My next handgun purchase is gonna be a Glock. I'd like another 1911 though... I'm thinking about that Dan Wesson Valor. ###y.

I at least got to handle a Bul M-5 at a gun show. Very tight and fit well in my hand.
My only concern is getting mags for it.

I shoot the spartan on a regular basis mine isnt as tight fitting as it should be but it still outshoots more expensive 1911's I own... I use it as a holster gun and dont really care if it finish wares off becase first of all its pretty afordable, and it allows me to leave my pretty 1911's in the safe so there finishes stay mint. The gun has fired flawless never let me down yet 5000+ rounds in less then 2 years probally closer to 10000... I bought it used from a guy that put one box of ammo down the tube... best used gun purchase yet... its got some mods like S&A magwell and 4 more novak heavy duty mags... custom grips.

Never shot a Bul M5... get the brand name STI for the braging rights even though its an entry level gun... I dont know how many people on the range I talk to think its like a 2500 dollar gun maybe its the way it shoots clover leaf groups ??? Then I explain that you can buy one for 750 or what ever the going price is now.
