Does anyone know of any canadian dealers bringing in bulk 300 blackout? Looking for fmj supersonic ammo. Also does anyone know the legalities of buying ammo from the states? Thanks

All I have been able to find in Alberta are individual boxes of 20 Hornady cartridges and they have been expensive, and are few and far between. I have had to resort to hand loading, but all I have been able to find are boxes of 50 Hornady unprimed for $49 and they are also rare. So I may have to resort to cutting down and re-forming .223 cartridges.

There is a thread "300 blackout brass" where a fellow is going to set up to do this en masse and will probably sell for $150 per. thousand.

Regarding bringing ammo into Canada I found this statement on the NRCAN website:

"A person is permitted to import up to 5000 rounds of safety cartridges for personal use and not for resale into Canada."

The definition of Safety Cartridge can be found in firearmslaw.ca:

“safety cartridge” means a cartridge for any shotgun, gun, rifle, pistol, revolver and industrial gun the case of which can be extracted after firing and that is so closed as to prevent any explosion in one cartridge being communicated to another cartridge but does not include tracer, incendiary, high explosive or other similar military type cartridges

You must also check US laws - certain items are prohibited for export - basically anything their military uses. Do not run afoul of Uncle Sam, he hands out 10 year sentences like candy at Halloween for a virtually infinite number of offenses that you might not even be aware of.

It's the US that doesn't want ammo, bullets, powder, primers, brass (even once fired brass) leaving the country.
