bulldog enfield, anyone got one?

Pardon the thread-jack, but it still doesn't beat the anti gravity Enfield...

That "gibbs"/Navy arms bulldog has one unfortunate trait.
After about five rounds, not only will the bullet go down range but ALSO the NOSECAP and a portion of the forend attached to it!!!!!!!!!

When Navy/gibbs made them up, they did it the lazy way. Instead of shortening the forend, they cut out a section and then doweled the remaining pieces together.
While the .303 tanker does it in about five rounds, the 2A (.308) version will do it in less.
Other than that, it is handy.
I speak from personal experience.;)

Also, you really should not cut the stock on an inexpensive Longbranch (if there is such a thing anymore?) as you will diminish its resale value considerably. Consider instead putting a shortened forestock onto an already sporterized rifle.

finding one that has the barrel cut short allready should not be a big problem.

once you have a bubba thats chopped there in not much you can do to save it, barrel changes are expensive and you will still end up with a mismatched rifle.

Some shortened No1 rifles were made up in the CEF in WWI to get better range with rifle grenades. They were cut down 11 inches and the muzzle band was no doubt properly set back and inlet, not chopped off like these wankers have done. They were found "very handy" for trench fighting apparently. The CEF had a reputation for bayonet work.
