Bulldog guys

There seems to be plenty of Forehand & Wadsworth bulldogs kicking around the States. They all say .38cal. .38cal what? Are they on the no-go antique caliber list?

According to the FRT, there are 2 F&W Bulldogs available in 38RF (making them antiques) and 1 available in 38 S&W, making it prohib. Don't know if there were others, but this is all they have listed on the FRT.
They did make their British Bulldog in 44 Webley - mean looking little gun. If I come across one for a decent price it'll find a home in my safe.

I've seen one is .32rf. Ones I've seen in .38 are just called ".38 cal" not .38S&W.

FRT is the RCMP's Firearms Reference Table - it's far from complete, but a great place to start.
Chances are the F&W revolvers aren't marked on the barrels, so the sellers only know it's 38 caliber. But the only 38 Bulldogs listed in the FRT are RF and S&W.

hi,this is one bulldog i've restaured for a good friend.32 s&w,as you see,lots of parts were missing...i found them(thanks again englishman_ca) and with a bit of filing and time,came off with this result.it's functionnal,the only thing missing now is the trigger return spring.

Here's mine, sorry for the cheap-a$$ camera pics. I'm not sure of the make, probably Webley.
Although some 38S&W fit, their bullets rattle down the barrel. I suspect it's early .380 revolver. KD
