Bullet casting flux

Borax is overkill and can be deadly. Two of the best fluxes/reductants around are pine shavings and bees was .

Pines shavings are a true flux since they both clean the alloy and reintroduce any metal oxidation.(tin)

Bees wax is not a true flux but will put the tin back in.

Sawdust is the best rated flux, that does the complete job of removing the crap and protecting the top layer of the lead from oxidizing. Cheap as hell too !

I've used wax's, lubes and whatever (have yet to try sawdust though) but find Marvelux to beat the others JUST because of the lack of smoke given off. I cast a lot in a garage (reasonably good ventilation with a fan) and prefer Marvelux. 1 can lasts a lifetime, well, almost.
