From all of your experiences what would be the the bullet that would be the most compatible with a 150 gr Nosler ballistic tip.

Reason: The ballistic tip in my oppinion is marginal as a hunting bullet but is very accurate in my rifle. I would like to use a better bullet ( ie partitions etc ) to hunt with but want one that will give me as similar as possible results in my rifle. I would like to stick to the 150 gr size. My hope is to simply find a load without haveing to do any major sighting adjustments. It took a while to find the combo I'm using now and starting from scratch with bullets that cost a fair bit more is a bit of a worry.

And yes when birds land on my roof they say " cheap cheap cheap "

.308 win in a ruger mkII. I have it dead center at 100M and it is 14" low at 300M I've practiced a lot with this set up and really like it. I've shot out to 500M at the range and it knocks down the pigs turkeys and rams one after another. My hope is to find a replacement that works the same but is better for game than the ballistic tips.

game: Mulies and whitetail but there may be elk in the future. That said I have a 300 weatherby for the bigger critters.

The Nosler Ballistic Tip is one of the best deer bullets a person can use in a .308 Winchester. If you do move up to elk or other large animals and are looking for a "All-round" bullet the 168 TSX would be a great choice. There is no free lunch however as you would have to work your loads up from the beginning. Even if you switch to the 150 Accubond you can't just "plunk" it on top of your BT load. As it has a thicker jacket, harder core, and a longer bearing surface than the BT the pressure curve will be different.

As a compatibility factor goes I will move up to Accubond. Made by same maker, design is almost same, except one is bonded and has better penetration/expansion ratio.
I use Accubond on moose and I like them.
