I just got my new Star sizer, and I was wondering if some of the guys here could tell me about how many bullets a stick of lube will do? I'm going to order some from Dragon, but I don't want to buy a metric ton of the stuff only to find a couple ounces would have done the trick.Thanks.

Well if you needed a Star sizer, you'll need alot of lube, there is no way to tell how much lube you will need, 1 stick will do thousands of .22 bullets but only a couple hundred(or less) of .45 cal. big lube bullets, your usage will be somewhere in between. I prefer a lube with lots of carnauba, I'd start with 10 sticks at least, to try the lube. Do you have the airdriven unit and a heater?

Yes, Ben, I decided to go all out and got the whole shebang. I bought a star because I wanted to spend more time shooting and less time futzing with paraphernalia.I've got a really nice S&W 52 that I thought would benefit from making better bullets, and I noticed a lot of smoke from the alox stuff I've been using.I need to make a bunch of 45's and 40's and 38s so I thought it was time to get set up to do it right.

Buy lots is my recommendation, I got doing my 45-70's and couldn't believe how much lube I went through, it doesn't go bad and odds are at the price you can get it from Dragon Lube, it isn't going to get cheaper then that either.
