Well I am finally going to start casting bullets for my 25-20. Do I need to lube the bullets if I am useing low velocity rounds? If I do, what lube should I use? Do I need to size the bullets too? I will be loading a 85grn bullet at 1200 fps. Thanks
Sizing is a good idea for accuracy, use lee stick lube , and put it on with your fingers just prior to loading if you don't have the kit to do it otherwise. That would be the poor mans method, but it works. And your talking cast bullets right? If your buying cast bullets they will be sized and maybe lubed aswell..
Frank
Rotax lubing is very important unless you were going to paper patch. If you don't lube you will have leading in your barrel like a buger.
Sizing actually if your mould drops a decent bullet doesn't matter much it is good to do but if your mould is close to your bore size and throws consistent bullets you would get away with that.
To lube put on with your fingers or work on pan lubing.
Thanks Ken.
