Any recommendations for bullet pullers for large volumes of rounds...say 5k plus. It would be used on 303, 308, and maybe 223. If not Mr collet puller and I may be spending alot of time together.

Get the type that is a die, that fits in your press.
Push a cartridge in it, the bullet grasps the collet, lift the handle and the bullet comes out.
No muss, no fuss, powder in the case.

Try Russell's Sports for the "Forster Bullet Puller ( Collet Type)" be advised their item # for the .223 collet is wrong in the catalog,-- just had to have the wrong one which they had sent me , replaced.

I've got one already, they work great. I was just checking if there is anything out there that does a better (or faster) job. I know, wishful thinking.

Go (or stick with) the collet puller but there is one that uses a "cam" style handle instead of a t-handle to tighten the collet. Hornady maybe? Someone else will know. The long lever lifts and lowers only once to grab the bullet making the whole process faster and easier.

I also have the RCBS bullet puller that use a collet to pull the bullets . This type works great.

We once pulled about 500,000 7.62 rounds.

We used a small die that screwed into a press. On the up stroke the bullet pushed up through a hole in the die, bending upward four steel fingers. On the down stroke, the fingers held the bullet in place, pulling it from the case. The case and powder was thown in a big plastic tub. The bullet stayed in the die, until the next round was pushed upwards. The new round pushed the old bullet up and out of the die. This die would pull a round every 3 seconds.

Later, the big Dillon media separator was used to separate all the powder from the empty cases. The powder was transferred to plastic garbage cans and was filtered through a section of window screen to take out the pieces of neck sealent in the powder.

I don't know who made/makes this kind of puller. It is great for high volume pulling, but it does leave some small marks on the bullets.
