Fellas I have a Sako 25-06 varmint and would like to know which brand and weight of bullet that may help me optimize its potential accuracy. I see that in 308 Matchkings are popular. Thanks FS

Sierra makes a 100 grain .257" Matchking. Berger makes a whole line of 'em. 78 to 115 grains. Speer does not.
I'd go with the Matchking if you can find 'em. They are not suitable for anything but target shooting and varmints though.

I'm still in the initial 'testing & trying' a number of different bullets in various weights. One that has turned out really well so far is a load I have using the 117gr Sierra spitzer B.T. I have a three shot group measuring 0.486" that I shot at 185 yds.:D There's a number of other bullets I want to try bu I think it'll be hard for me to top what I've done with the 117gr Sierra's.;)

What kind of powder/primer are you using?

The load was 48gr of IMR 4350 and CCI 200 primers. Two guys I shoot with on occasion were there signed the target. It's just a homemade target using stickers from work and when I scanned the target, I put a penny with it to give a better Idea of size. If you're interested, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send a copy of the scan with all the reload info.
I have a few other bullets to try but I plan to pick up some Hornady 75gr V-MAX. The effects of the V-MAX in .22 calibres is quite dramatic so it'll be interesting to see what the 75gr in the .25-06 will do.
