Category III-Ammunition

*(a) Ammunition for the arms in Categories I and II of this section. (See § 121.6.)
(b) Components, parts, accessories, and attachments for articles in paragraph (a) of this category, including but not limited to cartridge cases, powder bags, bullets, jackets, cores, shells (excluding shotgun shells), projectiles, boosters, fuzes and components therefor, primers, and other detonating devices for such ammunition. (See § 121.6.)
(c) Ammunition belting and linking machines.
*(d) Ammunition manufacturing machines and ammunition loading machines (except handloading ones).

This horse has been whipped dead 100x over. The import/export permit situation from the US has been going on for close to 9 years now.

It's US law not Canadian.
 
to clarify, I've bought projectiles from US companies that have shipped them to my address in Canada.

Space Money, if you end up having them shipped to your Canadian address, you may be dealing with a different set of circumstances than if you were to drive them over the border.

I know there's a LOT of us that would love a source of good projectiles at a better price than what we're paying at some of the shops. some people feel that the prices are reasonable, in their humble opinion, but there's no doubt that the prices up here are no way near as attractive as they are in the US.
 
If you want them shipped straight to your door then you will STILL need to get import/export paperwork. I've just gone through the process and imported the 1000 free bullets that you get from Hornady when you buy a press. I also just finished the paperwork for 2000 .50 350gr bullets for my Desert Eagle. No matter what, you have to get import paperwork from the Canadian Gvt AND export paperwork from the American Gvt. The company in the States also has to have a valid export permit to ship to Canada, as they are the ones that have to apply for the export paperwork.

Of course the circumstances are different.

If you are caught driving the bullets out of the US, you will likely be detained, threatened, your property seized, you will be placed on the watch list, Possibly banned from returning to the US, and perhaps charged.
If the bullets are being shipped without an export permit, and the package is intercepted on the US side of the border, your US supplier will likely be charged, prosecuted, fined, and your name may be placed on the watch list, as a party to an attempt to violate US export laws. But you will not be in the hands of US authorities.
