Does anybody know of a dealer selling “bullet variety packs”? I’m looking for .308 and don’t want to buy boxes and boxes of projectiles finding out that some don’t work out.

Good point. I'm probably trying to rush things.

I got about 200 39gr blitzkings through my new .204 ruger and I'm just starting to make it really shine. I have 4 more boxxes (100 in a box) to see what else there is to find out about that bullet. :D

Don't give up your life to finding a awesome load either. If you find one that is 1/2 ass then make some and have fun shooting!

One guy put add in local for sale/wanted website, looking to trade a few .30-06 cartridge to see what groups best in his rifle. Answered him, and we traded three cartridge each of three different kind of .30-06 ammo. Worked for us.

.308, starting from 150gr to 200gr or so, maybe 10 or 15 projectiles per weight. I guess it takes a lot of rounds and types of powder to see what ityip0 po

How do you see how a certain bullet shoots after 50 shots down the tube if you only have 15?

Pick a bullet that you like and is the right length/weight for your twist. Pick a powder you like and can easliy get. Then go from there.

Personally I wouldn't even bother with a new bullet unless I can get my hands on 300, 500 is better.....

By the time I exhaust all the different combos with a bullet (powder, primer, OAL) it can take up to 250 ish bullets. Nothing sucks worse than finding the perfect bullet powder combo and then you can't find more of the bullet/primer/powder!

That said, Usually I know within 50 rnds if a bullet will shoot or not...... Everything else after that is just research.....

Hi. If you're shooting targets, just work up the load with 150's or 155's for out to about 300, 168's out to 600 and 175's past there. All match grade, of course. Suggest Sierra Matchkings and IMR4064 or Varget.
For hunting bullets use any 165 with the same powders.

Unless either one of you pulls one shot, then it's kind of a waste to only have 3 rounds. I know I'm not so mechanically perfect, that I could take 3 rounds, make a group, and say that's the best I can do, and base a decision off of that, ymmv, of course.

Thanks for the info fellas. My computer is on it's last legs which is why some of my spelling's a little wonkey. Keyboard keeps switching to some bilingual thing every couple days.
