Hey CGN,

I was out shooting my new (to me) Beretta 92A1 tonight and something odd happened (I think).

I was shooting some cheap Brass Blazer (brass cased) 124gr 9mm FMJs...I have already shot approx. 300+ rounds of this ammo through my gun and another 500+ between 2 buddies guns issue free.

Anyways...

What seemed to have happened was the jacket came away from the bullet/the bullet fragmented when exiting the barrel?!

It didn't shoot/recoil/feel/sound off when I was shooting and another round chambered just fine after but the "shoot and see" type target I was shooting at from approx. 6-7 yards was peppered with a whole bunch of little marks, some just on the paper, not even through it BUT I also pulled 2 small pieces of copper jacket/lead out of the target stuck into the plywood backboard, they were in maybe a few mm's at most, very easy to take out, I even felt something small and light hit my lip. didn't hurt.

I checked my target board, behind it...wondering it I hit a rock in the berm or something and it came back through but there was no jacket fragments in the back of the board or any damages at all besides my few holes from shooting and no rocks to be found.

My barrel/gun look totally finally and it was shooting great before AND after this (after I checked it out) no negative accuracy effects at all or anything.

So my question is...

Does anyone know WTH happened?!

Thanks,

Cheap ammo. If you google "blazer 9mm jacket separation", you'll see it's happened to a few people. I wouldn't worry about, if it does happen again, just check your gun over and keep going.
