Hi

Is there anybody out there who is doing reloading with bullseye powder.

I am trying to reload 9mm 124 gr. hollow point bulk ammo. Any body know how many grains of bullseye powder to use.

I am pretty new to reloading so sorry if I am missing any information, but let me know.

Thanks for your help.

Marco

I have done thousands of 9mm and 45 and 357 and 38sp Its kinda of a all in one powder.

I usually go 3.8g on 9mm. "best accuracy for me" Not wimpy...not extra stout. Never had an issue.

for my 9mm carbines I go 4.2

My Lee book shows 3.9-4.4. So yes start at 3.9 or 4gr.

Don't be afraid to pick up a few reloading books. One can never have too many! Welcome down the deep rabbit hole of reloading!

Bullseye will make very accurate ammo. It is very fast powder. If you accidently double charge a case it will blow up your gun. Not really a good choice for a newbie loader.

You want ammo that will cycle the gun and be as accurate as possible.

I suggest you load about 20 each of 3.7, 4.0 and 4.3 and test to see which works the best. This is the advantage of handloading. You can match the ammo to your gun.

beware of double charging.

4.1gr(ish) of Bullseye under a 124gr CamPro should produce approximately 1050 fps. I use a lot of it in. 38 but it also performs well in 9mm.

Three point five grains, 3.5 grains of Bullseye powder behind a 124 jacketed or plated or lead bullet works fine. Sure, you can go to 3.6, but avoid 3.4 & under. Most modern powder dispensers on reloading presses drop pretty accurately, but not 100%. Reloaders know to build in a little “extra” to smooth out powder drop variances.

Bulleye is a great powder (I found it worked better in 45 than it did for 9mm).
When I used to reload for 9mm in a Glock 34, I was around the 4.50 grain mark.

I found Power Pistol to work even better in 9 mm than Bullseye.. around 6.5 grain.
