Hello all. I was wondering if anyone can help me with a value of an older shotgun.
Labelled as Burgess Gun Co Buffalo NY USA.
It is the same shotgun you see on Youtube`s Forgotten Weapons as well as the GIF where it is drawn from under a trenchcoat. I am not computer savvy and cannot post pics.

It is the folding model. The bluing is pretty much gone and it is missing a wood piece where you pump the action. Wood appears to have a coat of varnish on it and a non original butt pad. The serial number is in the low 3000s.

Not much info but any insight would be appreciated.

I could only wildly guess and locally if you could find someone who wanted one, I suppose 3 to 500. I can't remember what I paid for mine, which was the regular sporting gun. They are strange guns to shoot because you pump with your right hand and that tends to pull your face towards the breach and I was very conscious of the bolt coming back towards my face. With something like a Winchester pump, pumping with my left hand tended to pull the breach more towards my shoulder and I was not conscious of the bolt coming back towards me

This greatly depends on condition - one if excellent condition would sell in the US for 7k+

I would at least double mooncoons estimate for one in poor condition. I pm'd you - you can forward the pictures to me, I'll post them here and we can probably make a closer estimate then.

what is really unusual about a Burgess is that you can load the detached magazine tube without the shells flying out. For a prison gun, it could be carried loaded and folded in a long holster. That raises the interesting question of ; if you were transporting the regular non folding gun with the magazine detached and loaded, if in a car, would that qualify as having a loaded gun in the car or would it be the same as having a loaded clip in your pocket while the gun was in the car?
